Haakaa Nipple Shields- 2pk

Definitely something I couldn't have done without this breastfeeding journey. My son had latch issues from the beginning but thankfully we've gotten better, however, while we were learning to be better I had sore and cracked and blistered nipples so the shields provided that protection but still gave me the ability to breast feed.

originally bought this to cope with nipple rawness in the early days of breastfeeding, but have since found that it helps calm my baby when he's fussing at the boob as well. i would pop these on to help him latch and once he gets his rhythm going i'll quickly slip it off, very helpful during the witching hour and the good old wonder weeks. despite not having a suction feature, the soft silicone clings to the breast well and doesn't fall off easily unless the baby knocks it off with his hand forcefully.

I was interested in how these round designs would stack up compared to a competitors that I was given that we’re more of a strip shape. These are so much better to use as they don’t flip up and stick to baby’s mouth as easily. Nipple shaped part is also very petit for her mouth- although anyone with wider nipples might find they irritate a little to start with.

Would be helpful if there were larger sizes

I ordered the basic silicon shields as I wasn’t really sure which one would be best. I have slightly inverted and very short nipples and unfortunately these shields would be better suited to the opposite. I also found the cutout for the little nose was too big and it still covered my bubs nose. My Bub couldn’t get enough suction to pull my nipple far enough into the shield & so I continued to use my medela one instead until I no longer needed one. They’re awesome if you’re struggling with pain or dry nipples! I still recommend trying any shield to help if you’re struggling with BF.

These shields are awesome! I have shirt nipples and when my bubba is having a day and won't settle, she has trouble latching because she can't feel the nipple. The shield helps to extend that and she latches almost straight away. They're also great to use when bubba cluster feeds, real saver there! Doesn't relieve all the pain but sure helps to stop the shredding of your nipples thats for sure!
